Well, I'm not a pain slut, so I'm not sure how well I would have obeyed. That said, a little pain is very good. I do not see me ever asking for pain as a reward, rather I would take pain to please my Sir. The dynamic between these characters is what makes it so hot. The sub is willing to obey because she knows she will be rewarded for her obedience. Very realistic as well, in that I do not know any real person who just blindly obeys without question. The trust between these two Characters is evident.

Will there be a third installment?

I like the idea of a story involving a novice Dominant. I do hope there is more pain play to follow. My Dominant side finds this story very relatable.
