Good story. The mind control is implied. I assume it will become more explicit as the story advances.

I think by "terse" skin you probably mean TENSE, though that isn't really the right word.

Will he move on and either put the Ring on and go with the Flow and set-up his finances and gather More Women to care for him and his Future.

There only appear to be two chapters - I wish there were more!
