omg i loved this story. you did a wonderful job. had all my emotions going, anger, sadness, happyness and smugness. lol
Great story, I love the connection btw Will and Lucas. Hope to read from you soon. Love xoxo
I felt sorry for Juliet at the end. She had no idea what real love was. It was all about her. If you love someone then it doesn't matter what you have to do. Of course I can say this not having been in that position. But I can't imagine loving someone and then walking away because sex has changed because of an accident or illness.
Lucas was such a great person. We all should hope to find someone like him to love us.
I was sooo angry at her, and was sooo happy for him and Lucas it ended soo perfact, the bitch got what she deserved. Great story soo awesome, always support the armed forces always and forever.
Soo cool I love how in the end with Juliet just goes to show wheelchairs kick arse (pun intened) thanks for a wicked read :)
I hope that all the men and women like Will that have serviced in the recenst Afghan & Iraq wars has someone who have lots of patiences. THANKS! :)
I loved it. What a sweet story and the ending was great. lol what a slap to the selfish and lonely juliet. And really great that you showed us how they were together years later and fathers of children that were theirs. well-written and sweet story. keep writing.
now HERE is a story of yours that i loved in its entirety! Thank you for giving them a happy ending.
This was your best story so far. I especially liked the end where Juliet found out just what it was she lost. Keep up the good work.
One of my fav... thinking of doing copy past so i can printed and read when ever were ever jijiji hope your next story is this good
First story of yours I've read but I'll be looking to see if there are more!
Wow the story was sooooooooo good but the ending made it the best. Way to go Will
You write your characters so well they really came alive from the very start to the very end of the story and I found myself laughing and crying and gasping with them. The conclusion was a little predictable but very deftly done all the same. A Five Star story. :)
Thank you for writing such a great loving story - Greetings from Scotland
The story was excellent. But my favourite part was definitely the end with Juliet. Your character might have forgiven her but I was still a bit bitter. ;) Anyway, it was a ridiculously awesome story and I can't wait to read something else by you.
You could't wipe the smile from my face even if my lips were held to a sandblaster.
For the ending alone, not to mention the hot sex, the touching romance, the great plot, and even better character development.... There aren't enough stars here darn it!
Great job!
This is by far the best story I have ever read on Literotica. Unlike the others, I didnt like the ending though. I thought it was unrealistic. but the rest of the story was perfect
You sure do have a way with words sir. This was the first of your work I've read and already I'm jealous of your skills.
I am a romantic soul also and wish my writing could flow as smoothly and lovingly as yours. This was a fantastic love story. You've made a fan in me.
I cried, laughed and cried some more. I enjoyed the whole story but the part about them having children and his wife not..That was the best part. It might be wrong for me to feel like this but she got what she deserved.
Oh my goodness! Just amazing! I laughed, I cried, I clapped, & I cheered. That was seriously amazing work. Oh wow! Do more like this! =] Every bit of amazing!
Hell yes! Fantastic story!!! Very original, amusing and beautifully written! I love that his ex-wife saw him four years later. Just perfect! I love a great ending.
I loved it from the beginning to the end! Very charming, funny and interesting read. Keep it up!
Please keep the stories coming. I'd love to read more tales from this collection that must surely be bubbling in your fertile brain.
A good romance keeps me hoping for one in my own life. Ha!!
Hated the references to army buddies that died...but that's only because i'm a sucker for happily ever afters, that being said I realise that those made the story what it was. Amazing characters, lovely writing, great plot! Can't wait to read the rest of your stories =)
This story had me laughing, crying, and screaming. Love it.
omg amazing loved the ending! they totally got one over on stupid juliet good for them (:
Loved the ending. Loved the whole story it is brilliantly written and put together but the ending perfect!!!
Absolutely fantastic. You are one of the best writers I have read on this site. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us.
This is one of the best I've read. I love the way these guys got together, and the fact they became a couple and had a family...this is special.
This was one of the best reads ever. I love the story line and how juliet got what she deserved. So cute and romantic, made me smile so much, laughing through the love struggle. Thanks!
That was more than just a story people 'get off' on ... That was pure epic ness <3
I believe you have tremendous talent. I really loved this story. The WHOLE story. Especially the ending and the characters and the fact that you actually got into both men's POV. I love that they didn't just jump in the sack, that, in fact, Lucas showed some reservations about helping Will find his sexual self again. I like that Will had to talk Lucas into it. (I know, I know, I'm probably just repeating myself.) But seriously, GREAT story. It's one I'd definitely recommend to others.
There's only one thing I'd like to say for constructive criticism at this point: You should consider getting an editor. That's it. I thought the story flowed well, and the characters were solid.
A very good straight to gay story. You took something that is widely viewed very skeptically by many and made it pretty believable. The angst to happy ending ratio was right on as well. Thanks for a good story!
Most excellent! What a great uplifting story. Drew me in and kept me there. Wonderful writing and an excellent read i will enjoy over and over again.
thank you. Keep up the great work.
Great story, great characters! Definitely an entertaining read!! Thanks!
This is my second time reading this story - and I know I'll be back again and again.
The five stars I gave it are for the smooth transition you made with Will - not smooth because it happened too easily but because it felt so real and sincere. There is something brave about the choices you've made in this story - the beasts you've tamed and the expectations you've shattered. Your writing style is unpredictable and I loved every moment of that experience.
Keep the brilliance coming.
Blessings,
AH
Amazing story, Im definately sharing this one with my friends. Your writing is amazing and I hope to read more!
Great story...even the second time around! Yeah I felt I needed a pick me up, so I turned to this. Thanks!
Really well written. I like the way in which you explore sexuality. I hope that your stance on not labeling people as straight or gay becomes more of the norm.
This was a real heart tugger, As a gay man, unlike, Lucas, I had my Will once. Thanks for sharing your talent.
This is a wonderful story. I loved the way Lucas and Will's relationship developed. Sometimes the road to happiness is not what you expected, but that won't make you any less happy.
I spent the entire weekend crying, laughing, longing, wishing and rejoicing.... and I never left my bed. I read all of your stories and can't wait to see more. Thank you for filling my weekend with so many feelings!
Oh, and please don't forget about Josh!
Absolutely beautiful story. Please keep writing.
But I had to add that this is one of my favorite stories here at Lit. I know I've read it at least 3 times and it's so uplifting and honest. So tonight I was reading Frat House Troopers and all of a sudden get about half through when I began seeing familiar names- Will, Lucas and Donnelly. I absolutely LOVE how you have woven your stories together in a tight plot and well-paced action that is completely believable. I hope you keep writing.
Please tell me you are getting these published. Amazing work in all your stories.
It was the best, 5 stars for sure. I especially loved the ending. Keep up the great writing.
I don't know if my comment posted so I will post again XD lol
First of all this was perfect. And the ending was lovely, I loved it!!!!!!
But Donnelly?
Ethan Donnelly is dead? What? What?
Just to clear up any confusion--the Donnelly mentioned in this story is the older brother of the one in "Frat House Troopers." That's how Will and Lucas get connected to the characters in that story. It's complicated, I know--I just keep tangling this web of people up in more complex patterns!
Thank you for caring enough about the folks in my stories to be concerned about their well-being!
Love,
~xm
Yeah, it took me a couple of readings, but I finally got what you did there. Nice touch. And a killer sweet/hot story.
While I've never been anything but straight, I thought this was a beautiful love story. Thanks for a real Five Star tale.
And I don't want to be presumptive, but how about writing about Donnelly's widowed lover? I'm sure there's a story there as good as this one and Frat House. You rock as a writer and agree that you should be professionally publishing. Loved how Will and Lucas find love and each other and have kids while selfish Juliet doesn't.
I do so love poetic justice... Juliet gets everything she deserves.
Couldn't get any better!
Juliet got what she deserved,lol
Happy for Will and Lucas
:)
Great story and I really love the ending. Will certainly traded up when Juliet left and he fell in love with Lucas. The characters were excellent, the story flowed well and the writing was good. Thank you.
question is donnelly the same guy from frat troopers and is brantl his widower. are is this a different donnelly, just being curious.
Having read all the stories, the Donnelly in this story is Gabriel Donnelly's brother, not Gabriel (Ethan Brandt's lover).
The problem with the ending is not the lack of HEA or peoples discomfort with open relationships or even that it was rushed, the problem is that your characters did not remain true to their characterisations as you had created them. When a character acts out of character there must be an explanation provided in the text. You did not do that, revenge is not an explanation when the character is not vengeful, lying becaue of being ashamed or embarrassed is not an explanation when the character is honest and out there. And hurting the one you love and promising to keep doing that is not consistent with claiming to love only them. Unfortunately instead of planning to fix these problems you have perpetuated them in your following stories.
PS I love your writing your style and your humour
I simply have to let you know how much I enjoy your stories, your writing style, your humour - everything. As the typical straight guy (surprising, huh?), I prefer my erotica in shape of movies, and preferably with a bit more women in than this ;) But as someone who enjoys a good book, this really pleased me! It's no more than two nights ago when my best friend slammed his computer in my face and ordered me to "READ!". It took some convincing, but I read Frat House Troopers and was so stunned I had to keep going. Now I've read 'em all, and wasn't at all dissapointed. I really must ask you two write a novel. The humour and they way we get to know your characters proves that you've got the skills. I've never doubted my sexuality - simply because I know I wouldn't deny myself the right to be out and proud (living in a big messy lovely rainbow family coming out isn't really an issue), but after all the straight men in your stories turning out not to be as straight as they thought I can't help but wonder.. I have plenty of friends (male, gay) whom I love deeply (one in particular) and life would be a lot easier if I could be into him, ya know. I have to ask: Is the whole straight, but a little gay after all plot something you have real life experience with, or just the imagination of a writer?
Best regards, Thomas from Denmark (who's only anomynous because he doesn't have an account.. Not 'cause he's ashamed of loving your stories)
Thanks so much for posting your lovely comment on my stories. Here's my answer to your question, and two more that you didn't ask:
1. It comes from experience. I firmly believe that men are more flexible sexual beings than we generally get credit for, and that's awesome.
2. If you believe, as I do, that love comes from within, and that when once kindled it doesn't matter what the other person looks like, why should something as trivial as the less-than-10% of our bodies that vary by gender (chest & naughty bits) keep people apart? Yes, the plumbing is different, but that's like not wanting to live in a house because you don't like the plumbing. How crucial is that in the grand scheme of things?
3. Having your best friend shove my story in your face and command you to read is just about the hottest thing that's ever happened to me on Literotica. Please, thank him for me, and tell him I would do anything to repay his kindness.
Bottom line, Thomas--follow your heart. Love is rare enough in this world.
If you'd like to discuss further, please please please message me through my profile page.
Love,
~xm
I saw your response to the reader from & I have to say that I really agree with what You've said. Body parts dont make a difference when you love someone. If thats the only thing stopping some1 from going after what could be true love, its terribly sad. Btw this probably my 10th reading this story, because its so heartwarming and mainly because I identify with Will's nature of believing that if the front doors are closed, the windows are open, i.e there are always other opportunities. I have shared this story , as well as frat house with my best girlfriend in India , who was getting out of a troubled relationship,as this is the most uplifting love story that I have been fortunate to read.
With best regards
Fridayschild from Singapore.
Apart from the fact that this story is incredibly erotic and heartwarming and well written, the best part is that it is so funny in spite of the sad circumstances. The way Will keeps surprising Lucas, saying and doing things that leaves Luas utterly dumbfounded, not knowing how to react, makes me smile so much. The whole idea of the straight guy teasing and provoking the gay guy like that is just so cool.
And you have a way with words that leaves little phrases running around in my head, and I read the story again and again, anticipating the thrill of enjoyment when I come across them. One of the best is: "What part of that doesn't sound gay to you? This gay train has left the station. Get on!"
This story feels so complete, that it is only now that I realize something is missing. I would love to read about the inevitable conversation when Lucas gets all flustered trying to explain the next step, including the meaning of top and bottom. I can just imagine Will saying somthing like: So even though you've just given me the most wonderful orgasm by sticking a part of your body up my ass, you're assuming that I don't want you to put an even hotter part of you into me and fuck me senseless?
But I'm sure you can come up with something even funnier. Please, please write a sequel even though you do not normally do so.
Re-read this story for the upteenth (seemed appropriate on July 4) and love it as much as ever. I think the best part is how Will responds to all the changes in his life. Aside from some minor, and expected, sadness, he just goes out and deals with it, coming out at the end even stronger. And I still love the way he subtly gets back at Juliet. Poetic justice.
Great story. I love the ending. So many are predictable yours caught me. Keep it up. Hope others find twists to their stories end. Thanks
I love your stories. Have been re-reading yours. Hope you write more. Loved your Cupid series as well. Very talented! Thank you for having entertained us, readers! Love!
Juliet got what she deserved . . . hate women n men like her . . . Fenominal story!! I loved it with a burning passion ^_^
I've read it more than 3 times. I loved every single bits of it. I wish I'm a lucky bastard like will. Shit that is epic
guess juliet feels bad she didnt keep will as her romeo to bad so sad foor her BUT
Lucas knows a romeo when he see one and he and will have those kids she didnt think he could have well her lose.
This was a great story. It was simple, sweet, and romantic. I love that Will was so gracious to Juliet even though she's such a repressed bitch. Also, I love that they chose Donnelly's sister to be their surrogate; what a wonderful way to honor his memory.
Congrats on getting published!
I couldn't just leave Will and Lucas here. They are an important part of Frat House Troopers, my most popular story ever on Lit, which has now been published by Dreamspinner Press, in both e-book and paperback formats.
I've appreciated so very much the encouragement I've received from the Literotica community, and I think you'll enjoy seeing what the future holds for Will and Lucas, and some other members of their extended family whom you really should meet.
More info and links to order the book are here: http://xaviermayne.com/?p=81
This is probably the 15th time I am reading this & I still keep coming back to it.
The characters are so real & make you cry & laugh in that order.
You are very talented & congrats on publishing FHT.
Fridayschild :)
ah....juliet?(waving to catch her attention) IN-YOUR-FACE!!!!lord have some mercy this is the best the story was so well crafted it was real it was fantastic i will read it again and for everyone who missed it juliet missed out on her romeo because she caved like a punk when the going got tough and for all the juliet's out here in the real world if you ever did this to you man when he came home from defending your country IN-ALL YOUR-FACES!!lol loved it so much thank you
I love your writing. Your stories are the best and I'm thrilled that you're publishing now. Don't forget us here at Lit.
...lasted about five seconds after I read the ending and then I laughed my butt off. Serves her right.
the story was beautiful And the ending was fabulous i could really see that god aweful womans reaction XD
...........but I'm glad you passed this way.
Have enjoyed SO much what you've left behind. Indeed.
I really enjoyed this story, not the least because the depictions of sexual activity, whilst frequent, are never the sole justification for the story but are the servants of the plotline.
Both Lucas and Will seem ideally suited to one another and the fact that they can banter as they do suggests that their relationship will be long and happy and even fruitful.
I suspect this is one story I shall return to again and again.
More please
You made the entire story believable from begining to end. I'd read something along these lines years ago in the middle of the Viet Nam War but, it wasn't nearly as good or detailed.
The sex, while expertly written was not the focal point of the story but, it was the crux of the plotline since you know that nothing can or will work out if that can't. I enjoyed the way you developed the story and made the sex perpetuate the story without being center.
I would consider your story well written and I would enjoy a novel written in your style and hand because we all know, there aren't enough good novels around with gay characters that are worth their salt...but, I believe you could pull it off and it would make for good reading, gay, lesbian or straight.
Kudos, my friend. Encore!!
I am posting this as anonymous only because I haven't decided on a name or handle for myself on this site. I may want to try my hand at a story or two as well and so, I want the name and/or handle, to be right.
I'll be watching for more from you or looking to see if there is more already. Oh, and I'd buy a copy of your book!
Not gonna lie I was a bit wary at first but then OMG!! I fell in love. I hope out there somewhere are two people exactly like this, and this is their story so beautifully written.. Well done.
I was very skeptical at first with this story, it being the first story on this site that I have seen featuring someone in wheelchair, at all. You managed to make it a wonderful story, and adorable too. The ending was priceless her reaction was just too good. Congratulations on creating a marvelous piece of art!
A difficult subject, handled with sensitivity and humour. Well done.
AND LOVED LOVED LOVED THE ENDING she shouldn't of left him like that it was horrid. but i loved how it played out
