Longwood Fifth Hunt

"Janet you forgot the lawman on the train." Look over at Dan and smile on account is good paint.

"Paint Dan with badge lean against bench on train. Is good paint." Dan hold up finger then head out front, return with saddlebag that have paint in and pull out that paint.

"Oh my, that is good. Should add lettering to the badge." Sigh at that, no want do.

"Is hard add little letter on badge."

"Maybe we can find a smaller brush at the store." Dan has point, would make easier.

"Reckon can look."

"Should send that to one of the big law towns." Look over at fella just come in, then notice has marshal badge.

"No sure, Dan decide on paint that go big law town. You on hunt or finish?"

"Neither, I am transferring to Kansas City."

"Janet take him to meet chief when we get to Longwood." Look over at Dan then nod since is a fine notion.

"Shall take you meet chief at Longwood, once meet chief can come ask for help from Apache. They know track and shoot, like do on account can get blooded, is important to us but hard do any longer."

"How often would I need to do that?"

"Any time get bounty of dead. Need kill get blooded so no blooded Apache will want to get kill. Bounty is only way left any longer unless go west and join a free tribe."

Marshal sit with Dan and they talk on lawman thing so get to tune out. Instead show bartender the sketches and paint have. He is like what have so is all smile. Train ride seem take forever, and no time on account is go home to get Dan bury where belong. Am want this something awful, Dan seem agree on want. Finally though train pull up at Longwood and we are get off. Not that get to run for house and bed, am tasked with take marshal to meet chief. Also want gal to meet deputy, but no meet train aside Bipin.

Still lead gal over to Bipin who look over gal with then raise eyebrow at. Giggle a bit on account can make good funny.

"Have daughter, you no roll daughter." Bipin and the gal are laughing now.

"That was good funny, where did you find gal?"

"One of these gal want learn cook round eye then return to tribe. Rest want bond with Apache. No see why want but no me so where are no bond deputy?" Bipin sigh then reach out to swat nose.

"They are having problem getting up for train still. Run them out to chief and get a runner for those want stay." Nod and sigh, no good have deputy no meet train.

"Reckon Leotie know who is good to learn cook from?" Bipin snort.

"Leotie take over kitchen, she decide what cook. No cook, but is kitchen chief." Snort and giggle.

"Jealous a bit, is nice have other make vittles."

"Little jealous, keep have ice cream. Go on and see chief, have marshal want catch train."

Look back at marshal and wave to then head for with gal follow. Get through train then about halfway to fort afore any speak on thing.

"Why does he have ice cream?" Look back and grin.

"Bipin bond with gal who is cook in ice cream eatery. Make ice cream, pie, and cake."

"I heard that the Apache were working in town but didn't expect to see so many." Look back at marshal.

"Need get more with job, is no do on reservation. Warrior sit around do nothing aside practice fight, mean get tire of and want do real fight."

"Aren't there farms?" Shake head.

"One farm, second farm be built now but no farm until next summer. Baseball is popular game though do have fight some. Apache train for fight then no fight no good."

Reach fort and go on in, see many soldier watch us walk in. See sergeant so head for on account reckon captain want walk again. He always go with when visit chief, reckon on be bored in office same as warrior in reservation.

"Janet did you collect some wayward Apache?" Snort and shake head.

"Sioux who come look for bond man."

"She like old Irish soldier who drink lot so want take you away with." Sergeant snort and chuckles then turn to whistle, captain appear at doorway right quick.

No come out right away though, he go back in then return after moment with hat. Hat on he comes toward us then turn away for moment to speak with soldier. After short spell he turn back to and come on with smile.

"Janet you have good timing, ran out of things to do." Snort and giggle.

"Visit saloon more, will find. This marshal new to Kansas City so bring meet chief. Aside one these gal are here to join tribe. One gal want learn cook then return tribe, Sioux." Captain nod and smile.

"Well then, let's go visit with chief, maybe you can surprise me with something else."

Snort and giggle as get under way for tribe. Marshal is look about with wide eye at tribe. Reckon on he is surprise by how close teepee are together. No like close but then remember when was in tribe, argument or fight end quick like on account rest of tribe come. For roll is no good, though is good on account fella like hear and get excited.

"Didn't expect them to be so close together." We all look back at marshal then captain open mouth.

Find chief is sit outside teepee on ground smoke pipe. When see us come he frown at then turn to speak in to Leotie. Leotie come out quick like with grin then sit next to chief for moment afore hop up and get pillow that is toss to captain. Captain turn red then set pillow on ground then sit on so giggle at this a bit.

"Janet I did not order any wives." Am giggle now, with Leotie though still swat time or two.

"These gal are Sioux, four want stay and bond. Last want learn cook then return to tribe." Chief nod and smile then turn to whistle, two note come out afore he turn back.

"This is new marshal to Kansas City. Explain when come get Apache so bring to meet so can get Apache."

A small boy come running up now. Would reckon being no more than say six summer to him so no move fast. Still is only to show gal around to try and find bond man.

"Miss rabbit." Chief snort.

"Rabbit is call Benjamin now, been say want go be marshal." Look at marshal on account no think can happen.

"I'm not sure that can happen. Injun are not precisely covered in the laws which means they will have difficulty enforcing it. Deputy is different, they are chosen by sheriff. Sheriff can decide to give badge to dog. Marshal on the other hand is decided on by a judge and they are sticklers to sticking within the laws." Captain wave hand.

"There is talk of using my soldiers as a police force. Benjamin could perhaps be a reservation marshal." Chief frown then nod.

"Reckon so though there isn't much call for it."

"Reckon there will be soon, warrior sit around no warrior." Chief stare at then sigh and nod.

"Been seeing sign of it get worse. Need get more than Benjamin though, he no respect as warrior yet."

"This is something for you to figure out with the other chiefs. My soldiers will assist, we do have a stockade already, but best to have Apache leading." Chief nod and sigh.

"No like this but must do." Marshal stretch then stand up and look unsteady.

"Better get back to the train." Chief hold up hand then whistle three time.

After short time gal come run over and stop. She of age but no by much would reckon. Still wear dress and unlike Leotie dress is just white. Perhaps not exactly white, more of a light grey on account actual white cloth is expensive while untreated is not.

"Janet show marshal here back to the train."

Leotie is giggle little while gal is little nervous with go over to marshal. Still go and offer arm then they walk off together. All watch for short spell then go back to look at chief.

"I am not trying to get her with the marshal. Janet is a bit shy so using her as runner so will talk to others more."

"She chose Janet?" Leotie nod and smile.

"We all think Janet is a right proper name, even though is name of Cherokee." This funny so there is merriment for a short spell.

"Why Cherokee hate Apache?" Chief sigh and shrug.

"Been hate for longer than been alive. Reckon is simply Cherokee and Apache hate on account of both best warrior."

"Then there is Janet." Look at captain though chief is chuckle.

"Honest Janet, if you go fight with Cochise and Geronimo cavalry stop try take Arizona."

"How did trip go?" Look at Leotie and smile.

"Was good trip, help out sheriff in two town then get to have bounty on six bandit threaten Dan and me on way hide town."

"She did some good paint as well, did one of fella on train and is work on one show injun stand watch round eye cut up buffalo." Sioux gal say then chief wave hand.

"You got two paint out of that trip?" Shake head and grin.

"Afore did slaughter saw lynx about ready pounce coney so stop and sketch out lynx crouch to pounce then do lynx walk away with coney. Also get sketch of three buffalo stand there."

"Got cookbook." Look over at cookbook, did not realize she had carry with.

"Good, cookie only share recipe never write down so we have to remember." Chief sigh.

"I will find someone to teach you two to read."

"No all know?" Chief shake head and captain sigh.

"Most of the adults are being reluctant to learn. The kids don't mind that the teacher is white so I'm not sure what the problem is."

"Teach to read is seen as something for kid to learn." Sigh and shake head.

"Benjamin no teach afore heading to Mohawk?" Chief nod.

"He taught some, shall ask one of them." Leotie squeak and swat chief.

"Not him." Chief shake head fast.

"No not him, one of the warrior learn has decide that he is preacher and is speak of call to arms to protect injun."

"I have offered to write him a pass so he can head for a free tribe." Look at captain then back at chief.

"He hasn't gone yet, also not dangerous so far. Reckon he is scared of Janet so is all fine. If change will let know though like as not he will leave afore can."

"He may calm down with Apache as reservation marshal." Perhaps though does make ponder one thing.

"State allow expansion of reservation?" Captain nod and smile.

"Yes, the expansion is going forward. No one has bought the land wanted, no streams or rivers makes it good to farm and nothing else. Most of the farmers went farther so it's just empty land. Honestly I think the state is happy to get rid of the land."

"How many tribe get add?" Captain sigh at this.

"Five for sure, Washington wants to see how well you do with five more tribes. Reckon on do well enough will add more tribes."

"Wicker will want to add saloon and have Apache whore. Have too many men want." Captain look at me for moment and sigh.

"I'm not supposed to announce this." Grin and wave hand.

"No need tell why, simply say they wish add saloon with plenty room for whore."

"Would the gals want to? I know the ones here are doing it to have a poke together for a house." Chief snort.

"Plenty tribe gal want whore, not for monies. Simply want do so get roll on account of they no find fella so far."

"So if Wicker got a brothel tomorrow they would fill up with Apache to whore?" Chief nod.

"Most gal want are young but no seem matter."

"Young like Janet?" Chief waggle hand.

"Little older, Janet is too shy to even look." Train whistle so stand up.

"Shall get back to town."

Sioux gal hop up and give hug then am off for town. Want see if Dan order pistol, along with got new Winchester. Reach town and no Dan so head for gun store. No Dan in gun store, Claire say went to get ice cream. Reckon can eat and Balik likely with Dan so head for ice cream eatery. Step in and wave to Chun then turn to spot Dan.

He is just sit with Balik on high chair speak with one of the waiter. Waiter pull chair out for to sit so sit with smile then get hand menu. Read for a bit then make order when fold up menu find been join by Mr. Johnson and a new fella.

"Janet this is Mr. Stevenson, he is our town newspaper man." Am all smile at news.

"Ask chief, may want you to record Apache history." His jaw drop.

"Oh my, that would be exciting. Would he want me to record it in Apache?" Shake head.

"Apache no have written word, Cherokee do afore was made move by round eye." Dan nudge at so look at him.

"Janet share the story of our trip."

"Have equipment for paper?" Mr. Stevenson shake head.

"It is ordered, the first paper will be in a month or two. The story of your trip though I can send to other newspapers and they will print it."

So start to share the tale, then get to start over after Chun bring sundae and pull chair over. Also made wait until kitchen empty and have rest of what wanted. Even have bowl of ice cream for Balik. He appreciate vanilla and no care for chocolate, also fella so seem right on account chocolate is for gal to enjoy.

Finally share tale, with Dan add in here and there, mostly on roll until kick hard. When finish all just sit there for short spell.

"Heavens Janet, you attract the bandits." Look over at Chun and waggle finger.

"Honest am jealous, no had gumption to stand much with Balik when look like that." Chun look down at belly and grin.

"Have a chair behind the counter. Honest I only get up when people come in and have an order to do."

"Been teaching Inayat everything, I want to try and get with child again." Inayat has smile and is show that with child.

"Are you going to try Bipin? He work with all gal." Chun smile.

"Liked Bipin atop, Amanda is going to actually whore this time. Last time she tried one fella, Mr. Gladstone has been saying it takes plenty of trying or plenty of fellas."

"Don't want to but do want to have a child so going to just imagine he is Chun with a bit of wood."

"Had David make up some wooden forms so she can get used to the feel of a fella inside and moving." Look at Chun for moment then well there is question.

"How well wood work?" Amanda and Chun turn red.

"We have to toss one away after using it a couple times, they fray and you can get splinters." Amanda say then Chun lean forward little.

"Amanda put a splinter in me though we got lucky, it was sticking out a little so pulled it out. Mr. Gladstone checked and I was all healthy inside." Dan is chuckle little now.

"Why not ask David to make a metal one?" Amanda turn red.

"He is making us one out of a pipe so it weighs less and uses less metal."

Giggle bit then look at Dan with needy eye. He look back then smile and nod so we get up and collect Balik to sit with Sashi. Get hug from Bonita on way back out of saloon so can have my husband where belong, hopefully while carry his child again.
