They know that what they did was a definite game ender, but Renee is shrewd enough to twist him up and have him come back. He's basically her Yoli. By ghosting him, they're making him have to make the next move. Either he's done with them and their partnership is caput or he makes the first move and reaches out, but that'd be like admitting they own him... which lets face it, it seems Renee does. Can't help but feel pity for our mc and Andre, even if that prank hadn't happened they'd both be hopelessly in love with women who clearly want to keep an emotional/social distance.
