"That's my sister, man!" Pat playfully punches Jon in the arm after a particularly sexy chide in her direction.

"Ok, ok. Before Pat murders us all..." Jon chuckles.

Feline makes a round of iced mochas with my dad's Keurig machine, and we all sit down to chow.

After dinner clean up, some of us wander into tents, some of us lounge at the fire pit, now only a few scant embers remain. Feline puts on an old 60s and 70s playlist, and Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" starts to play.

Pat, Chad, Jess, Angie, Feline, and I make our way down to the beach, bringing the little Bluetooth stereo with us. There, we stripped down to shorts and bikinis and dove into the water to swim together.

I take my baby out after an hour and rub her down with SPF, her appreciative moans let me know I'm doing it just right.

"You're a bit pink. Maybe we should go back to the tent for a while. Get you out of the sun?" I ask her.

"Soon." she replies, taking a sip of the margarita Jess handed her earlier.

I nod and adjust the black umbrella over my girl before I take a seat on a beach towel beside her.

"This morning was amazing, Shawn." she confesses, soothing a hand up and down my scarred arm.

"Fuck me, was it ever!" I exhale and lay back, tanning myself in the full heat of the day.

"I didn't know it could be like that." Feline whispers.

"That makes two of us." I reply, kissing her hand and inside her wrist.

"My pussy is so sore." she giggles. I laugh and tickle her until she's breathless.

"Good. That's always how I want you. Well pleasured." I wink at my girlfriend.

She smiles softly over at me.

"God, you guys are gross." Jess laughs and slips her hand into a cooler and grabs a beer, tossing it to Chad as he follows her up the beach and plants himself on a towel beside me.

"Brother..." Chad grins as we pound fists.

"Shove bum." Jess scoots next to Feline and sheds cool ocean water all over my girl as she squeals in surprise.

"Hehe!" Jess snickers and squeezes her dripping hair onto Feline's soft, exposed tummy.

My baby sits up with a shriek, and Jess embraces her and won't let her go.

"SHAWN HELP SHE'S FREEZING!" Feline grasps for me.

"On your own, Kitten." I smirk over at her.

"All the wrong ideas." Chad winks at me, and I elbow him lightly in the side. A private joke, shared between childhood friends.

It isn't until after dinner when we finally all seem to find our tents. Feline is asleep in moments, while I am almost not willing to let these last 24 hours go as I lay in bed and stare up at the tree canopied sky, mulling over everything that transpired.

The night descends, and I finally feel myself start to drift. Not before I tuck myself behind my sweet, dark angel, pulling her hips into me.

"Love you..." she sighs in her sleep.

"I will love you til the end of time." I tell her. The words are an oath, a promise I intend on keeping. I never want to sleep alone again. I've gotten too used to having my baby with me. She's soft and warm, and her little body invites me into dreamland.

My last thoughts are about how I am going to ask her to move in with me at the end of this summer. I better get a place with a garage, so she can do her tinkering, and maybe a spare room for her nocturnal gaming sessions.

I yawn, and slowly fade from consciousness.

~ to be continued ~

This chapter took quite a lot of research online and consulting family members so I didn't sound like a total hodad (Person who doesn't surf but hangs around surfers and the beach). I'd like to thank the surfers Mason Ho, Ian Walsh, Mike Parsons, Eric Geiselman, Kieran Anderson, and Micah Peasley and their youtube channels for advancing my knowledge of this incredible sport!

glossary:

(sources: I have skate/snow/surfboarders in my life. Plus, I may have done some glossary look ups. Just in case.)

Alley-Oop: is a backward aerial rotation inspired by skateboarding

Barrel: the hollow part of the wave. The tube. The most sought after wave there is

Dawn Patrol: pretty self-explanatory. Going surfing at dawn

Dickdragger: a derogatory term referring to lying down on your board while riding a wave, usually used for bodyboarders. A female version is a clam dragger. Bodyboarders are usually looked down upon like BMX'rs and scooter riders in the skate boarding park.

Drop In: to drop down the face of a wave, into the barrel or greenroom (dropping in when other surfers have claimed their spot in the line-up is the first cardinal sin of surfing. Never drop in before your turn)

Face: where most rides take place the part of the wave that has yet to break

Freight Training: going as fast as one can possibly go while standing up on the board

Frontside: when a surfer rides facing the wave

Frontside Roundhouse Cutback: essentially forming a figure eight at the peak of a wave

Frontside Snap: in which the surfer comes off the bottom turn, quickly attacks the lip in the right section, and keeps riding the wave face

Greenroom (barrels): the inside of the wave as it curls, the color the water makes in the tunnel

Grubbing: falling off a board while surfing

Heat: a surfing competition

Kerrupt Flip: is a full rotation alley-oop, combined with a mute and stalefish grab

Kook: a rookie, someone who isn't good at surfing

Line-Up: where surfers "line up" in an area away from the swell, the area where surfers wait to catch a wave

Lip: the part of the wave right before it breaks, the upper part of a breaking wave

Lock in/Locked in: getting caught inside a crashing wave

Mute (also known as a Slob): A maneuver where the surfer, while backside, reaches across his body with his leading hand and grabs the toe-side rail. A slob grab is identical, but performed when the surfer is travelling frontside.

Paddle Battle: race between surfers to get to the wave face before the others

Pitted (the pit): riding close to the heart of a big wave, where the water curls over and starts to look like a tunnel of water (one of the ultimate rushes in surfing)

Pop Up: from laying down on the board to standing on it, ready to surf

Rodeo Flip: a combination of spinning and flipping inspired by snowboarding

Shorty Spring Suit: a wetsuit with short legs, could have long or short arms

Soup: whitewater (the ocean)

Spitting Barrels: water spraying out of barrels (see greenroom) usually implies excellent surfing conditions

Stalefish Grab: in which a surfer uses his inside arm and grabs the inside tail rail

Superman: is an aerial maneuver where the surfer drives his surfboard down the line, goes up, kicks the board, projects it to the beach, grabs the rail, and reconnects before landing

Sushi Roll: is an acrobatic air trick that combines the superman and the rodeo flip.

Turtle Roll: technique where a surfer will flip his board over in front of the oncoming wave to get underneath it

Wetties: wetsuit

Great to see you back again!

You’ve written a really engaging story series so far & it was a real loss to not hear from you in awhile. Too many talented authors just disappear.

But, we’re sucked into your “Green Room” again with the character development, music examples, dedication to research & excited to see what your imagination comes up with next. I had to read the whole series again just for the fun of it before this post. Keep up the good work & hope to see more! 5+

I don’t have a profile & I get will never be able to be a writer, but thanks from Anonymous.

5*. So glad you're back. Missed you. I love the way you add music to your writing. I always look them up. Played the long one just as you suggested. Keep writing... even if you think it stinks. Then you can think about it and change it for the best!
