So much like an autobiographical journal that you share with us — painful memories mixed with joyful moments while trying to gain a sense of self. Maybe the style precludes much dialogue, yet dialogue helps the reader see/feel what is being described. Likewise, the sex — not asking for graphic, screaming debauchery, rather more expressive engagement that lets erotic moments, whether painful or sensually beautiful, to come alive. Am enjoying this journey.
