He needs to drag her to the courthouse and get the certificate and marry her without saying "love". That way he can at least take care of her and keep her safe. The big bad world isn't always what we want it to be, and it's rarely kind or good to people. She needs to be married solid enough to know she's got a home and won't have to sleep on the street. It doesn't have to be elaborate or elegant, just real solid.

Yes. Exactly that. There are far too many monsters out there in the everyday world we live in, the chances of a vulnerable person falling into the wrong hands are way too high. It’s not easy to spot the monsters either not when they’re all human.

I genuinely love this story. I’m trying to work out why she doesn’t want the feelings of love returned, it’s definitely puzzling.
