"Ale get her out of here and call the police. Tell them he's an off duty Deputy and possibly armed!" I directed, and Ale grabbed Dani and ran into the bedroom.

The pounding escalated, it sounded as if he was trying to kick the door in. I heard police sirens in the distance, while the door vibrated in the frame with each blow. I feared the worst, it was apparent Steve wouldn't stop until he gained entry. I stepped back further, when I saw the door frame start to split and splinter.
