He smiled as he pulled her back to his chest.
"Thank you...thank you, Sir...thank you so much...for everything." Shelly kissed him again as he held her on top of him. Her tears had dried and all the angst she had had been replaced with a feeling of calm and security.
Mike smiled and kissed her forehead. "Good girl." His heart ached for her as he felt her body relax. He had never felt so protective of someone...never had he let a woman affect him this way.
She smiled and rested her head back on his chest. Before she knew it, she was fast asleep once again. But this time, there were no nightmares. She dreamt of being in a warm bed with a delicious man who would protect her from anything, even herself.

Foreshadowing makes me think that Michelle’s new job is with Mike’s company, which they will discover at Tuesday’s meet and greet with the new hires. More than two years since this was posted, so I guess we’ll never know. Bummer.
