Loved the latest instalment and the tension around Chamberlain’s demise. Brilliant way on introducing the new character Jenny.

Gorgeous ending to a brilliantly written chapter. This story is absolutely brilliant, Pixiehoff. History with added cunnilingus. What could be better?

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, but these certainly were remarkable times. Jolly good of you to re-live the era htrough the eyes of your wonderful Pixie character. And about some of the politicians of that time, you couldn't always agree with them (and from a modern time perspective, more often than not), but they were interesting, to say the least.

Another delightful chapter illustrating the bonds of friendship and love which can exist among women. And sad times for those who became pregnant out of wedlock---there were probably huge numbers of girls and young women dragged from rivers and lakes. Even when I was approaching middle-age there were still elderly people around who could be very nasty about unmarried mothers (and blaming the children). "Let he among you who is without sin..." These last two chapters have been excellent, Pixie, concentrating more on political and social history than eroticism.

I enjoyed the chance meeting with one of political history's great unhung smear of dirt on humanity's face, Bob Boothby, slimeball extraordinaire. He got away with things that would have had common folk doing time. Bisexual, at one time he was knocking off Prime Minister MacMillan's wife. He had a taste for soldiers (especially guardsmen) and sailors but more of a taste for young boys (many of whom were procured for him by his friend, gangster Ronnie Kray). I think even Lord Archie would have baulked at being associated with the Hon Bob.

Thank you Pixie darling, a thoroughly good read with the introduction of some new characters, the charming but fictional Jenny and the utterly disreputable but all too real Boothby. I have carried out a quick Google of him and found myself wondering how in Hell's name did he get away with it all? A bi-sexual in the true sense of the word but he must have had some charm to be able to carry out those innumerable affairs. Are there any of the British establishment, then as well as now, with any redeeming qualities?

Juxtaposition defined for us — the contrast between political craziness and a beautifully personal moment shared with a new character who comes to life in just a few paragraphs. You have a wonderful way of making us think and feel at the same time.

Darling Pixie,

Is there a better way of saying "thanks for saving my life" than Jenny's way? I think not. What do you think? Ah yes, you thought of England. This is so delightful 💜

And the masterful way you tell the story of how the phony war slowly turned into a real war in the mind of the English. The only thing phony about it were the politicians of the day. Whether they were competent or not, whether their decisions were well-informed or poor, it mattered little. Their career depended on posturing, saying impressive things or failing to impress the audience. In other words, putting on an act.

Little has changed in that regard, whether we look at the battle of succeeding BJ in UK or at the demise of a perfectly competent government in Italy due to the ego of a 5-star (what a misnomer) politician (I think his name is cunty or something), when the EU needs to stand together to fight an enemy who wages actual war against one country and psychologic and economic war against many countries.

You also manage to weave in a subtle reference to another controversial topic. Was the man who impregnated Jenny a Yank, meaning an American? And her options were getting a back alley abortion or being shunned by her family and her employer? Grim prospects for women then and now.

Darling Pixie, your story is so relevant for the present times, in more ways than one.

AHhhhhh? Think of England? Seriously? I am pretty sure that England would not be one of my thoughts. If I had 'Jenny' between my legs I am certain it would not be thinking of England or the US for that matter.

Another great chapter darling.

Thank you MamaS. Well, lying back and thinking of England was, of course, a euphemism of the time for letting your husband have his way xxxxx

Pix - even though this chapter is short and most likely a set up chapter for more to come.. it is well written with lots of tid bits. Love this first line " love is.. even thru any alteration ". We said!

Pixiehoff gave us a lot to consider with her introduction of Jenny to the story. The way her "situation" was presented clearly illustrates the stark difference in potential consequences and quandaries faced by a man versus a woman after a single sexual indiscretion. It also served to reinforce my belief that a woman's choice in these matters (whatever it is) needs to be respected, supported, and defended. I can't imagine a better solution to Jenny's dillema than the one provided by the "pink lady", and wish such a compassionate intervention for every distressed woman in a similar position. Oddly enough, despite the gravity of the situation regarding the impending war and the political turmoil, I found Jeeny's plight to be an equally pressing issue in this chapter.- Literally a matter of life and death. A thought provoking chapter from Pixiehoff. I eagerly await the next. 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿

Dr beulahthemick; Oh, Pixie, this is so good, history and Lady P finding a new lover, just love how you weave the events of the day with the social mores of the time. An unmarried mother was scorned and shamed, abortion was a serious criminal offence both for the abortionist and the expectant mother (serious jail time and very dangerous, often fatal for the expectant woman). However, what crime has Lady P done to deserve meeting Bob Boothby, what a low-life, just how he got away with it all his life is beyond belief. He was not only gay, when this was a serious criminal offence, he was the lover of Harold Macmillan's wife Dorothy for over thirty years and the father of his daughter as well. In the 1950's Macmillan made him a Peer and he (Boothby) was in a relationship with Ronnie Kray, there were also claims that he also like young men (one, a seventeen year old Bob Beven, who Boothby, wined and dined then took back to his Eaton Square apartment for `afters') When this was exposed Boothby sued and somehow won damages of £40,000 about £900,000 today. I am aware we have to experience all of Lady P's extensive social life, but Bob Boothby, please no more of him. Well Pixie, I have binge read all the missed episodes and now I know where the free WI-FI is will keep up to date with Lady P's adventures, naturally 5 stars as usual, keep up the good work, love beulah. P.S. told my daughter and her wife about your stories at the weekend and they are now bingeing on your work, you have another two commited fans.

Thank you so much, Anonymous for seeing the bigger picture - the juxtaposing of the personal and private with the public was deliberate and I am glad that it worked for you xxxxx

Thank you Dr beulah. Yes, Boothby was a nasty piece of work, and Lady P was well shot of him. I am so glad that you are not only enjoying the series, but passing on your pleasure xxxxx
