Click here"Oh?" asked Megan, leaning in and nuzzling my right ear. "Just what did happen?"
I closed my eyes and enjoyed the feel of Megan's lips on my ear. I said, "You should know, minx. You were there."
Megan continued nuzzling me, switching to my left ear as she said, "Yes, I was there, but it was more than twenty-two years ago, and I wasn't with everyone all of the time. Just what were you doing with Judy while I was with Virginia?"
"A proper lady doesn't kiss and tell," I said, leaning into Megan's lips. "Besides, I could ask the same question about you and Judy while I was with Virginia."
"Well, if you must know," Megan huffed as she feigned indignation and stopped nuzzling my ear, "we were playing Monopoly®."
I spun around and wrapped my arms around Megan's waist as I said, "Yes, there were a lot of board games to keep people entertained during those long lonely nights. So that loud series of 'Oh, Gods,' I heard you screaming was because you were celebrating the fact that Judy landed on your fully developed Park Place?"
Megan turned and sat in my lap so I could kiss her on her lips. After we broke the kiss, she smiled at me and said, "Yes, it was a very satisfying moment. Just what game were you and Virginia playing that made you scream her name over and over?"
"If I recall, we were playing chess, and I managed to fork her Queen and King with my Knight," I said thoughtfully before pulling Megan in for another kiss.
When we broke, Megan snarked, "So, there was forking going on?"
"You make that sound dirty," I said, grinning. "Forking, when done correctly, is also very satisfying."
"Yes, it is," Megan conceded. We kissed again, the kiss heating up as it continued.
Soon, we broke, gasping. I panted, "How about we go to the bedroom and play some chess?"
Megan grinned and asked, "Do you promise to fork me?"
"As often as you want," I averred as I closed my computer, stood up, and led Megan to the bedroom. When done correctly, forking is very satisfying, and we both fell asleep very, very satisfied.

It is titled "How to Read the Virginiaverse" and is found in the How To category. I still have at least three more arc stories and several side stories to write, so the 'Virginiaverse' is far from finished.
FYI: The US Air Force has moved away from below-the-zone promotions. They are now using a merit-based system to sort the list of selectees rather than time in grade/service. Officers showing more significant potential will get promoted earlier than officers who don't, even if they have less time in grade/service. This system is expected to allow late-bloomers to get promoted earlier by showing more potential later in their career. A study showed that all General officers in the Air Force were promoted below-the-zone at least once in their careers. The down-side they found in the below-the-zone system was that some early-bloomers who benefited from a below-the-zone promotion early in their career flame-out later on. Because they're ahead on the rank ladder in time/grade, it can hold back officers who bloom later on in their careers. Time will tell if this works the way they intend it to.

I absolutely loved the trials, tribulations, and emotions involved with sexually active military women in same-sex relationships, and how the had to got to extremely interesting lengths so that their personal and professional lives could co-exist. In short, I, too, fell in love with Alex, Virginia, Bonnie, Judy, Meghan, and more. Keep up the great work!
Nerdyqueen94about 3 years agoI am so blissfully happy with this story I am unable to properly convey my gratitude for your work. I have loved every story tragedy and all. I was beyond glad to see Alex and Megan find happiness, it being with each other simply made it more beautiful. Also can't explain why but the thought of the four of them having that weekend together felt very right. Not because of the erotic thoughts, but because they had all been so connected and had truly loved each other. I guess it's just the hopeless side that wants everyone to find happiness. Thank you for this great story with a fantastic conclusion.

Anonymousover 3 years agoI have enjoyed your stories. There is one thing that bugs me. Champaign is a city in Illinois and one does not need a corkscrew to open a bottle of Champagne. It is a trivial detail but very distracting, as there are multiple instances over the story arc.

A wonderful story allowing Alex to finally find her "Special Love", which also occurred after she had accomplished her primary military goal of having her own command. It was also quite beautiful for "Steve" to meet Claire at this time in his life, then retiring and marrying her, also with many plans for travel. He supported Alex so warmly, especially giving her the heads up of her needing to be a bit more friendly with her male military counterparts, otherwise she could inadvertently out herself.
There were disappointments for most of the primary ladies in various parts of the Virginia stories, however I do not feel that anyone was a real loser. In the end, everyone was happy with a partner by their early 40's, enjoying their long time friendship & love.
CeVin_ChienElleover 3 years agoI have been worried about Alex for forever--she seemed like the "Girl Most Likely To" pay a heavy price for a career serving our Country. I love it, and I love the closure of Alex and Megan ending up together.
Although a glimpse at the foursome might've been fun...

ArmyGal33over 3 years agoI have to say, this felt like someone else was writing it. In the past, the small details of the character’s life provided some interesting, but usually relevant detail. If you had cut out the absolutely useless day-to-day stuff, and the military stuff that had no impact on the plot of the story, this story would have been maybe 2-3 pages instead of 7. It is no exaggeration to say that there was that much pointless dragging on.
I even took screenshots of particularly difficult areas:
“Barb had arranged for box lunches for our lunch, so my team got together in the conference room to eat lunch”.
“Until then, we need to get this ceremony over with.” “Yes”, I said. “I can’t wait to get this over with.”
“Let me get the backings off your insignia before I forget.” He came up to me and got the backings off.
And the swinging at the end? Where did that come from?
This did not feel like your work. I’m utterly perplexed.
