An enjoyable, hot story.

But either you aren’t as old as your narrative voice claims to be, or you are slipping into dementia. Some ridiculous anachronisms:

1. Tia took a pregnancy test at home and then got it confirmed by the doctor. IN 1969? The first EPT wasn’t approved until 1976 - and were incredibly expensive.

2. Tia’s boyfriend has “sex tapes” in 1969? Home video tapes weren’t available and affordable for working class folks like this until the early ‘80s. Video tape in 1969 was 1” wide, wound on open reels and recorded and played back on machines that cost many hundreds of dollars. I know. I began working at a TV station in 1969.

3. A water bottle was used to wet a paper towel in 1969? The only way water came then was from a faucet, hose, canteen or cup.

Seems to me that anyone who’d lived through those days would be aware of those things. If you’re going to set a story in a time you don’t really know, so your research. Better yet, follow the most basic instruction every writing student hears, “WRITE WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT”.

To Rapierwit24601, I apologize for the reference to HPT, obviously a screw up that I meant to remove. Home video sex tapes were very common in the late 60s. I still have a couple from when I was in college in the late 60s. Yes, 8mm format, most without sound. I think I have a super 8 with soundtrack from around 1970. As far as water bottle, maybe used wrong description. My friend "Karen" always carried bottles/jugs of water to "clean up" as she put it. Don't recall exact form, might have been mason jar, canteen, etc. for all I recall.
