@Anon: the latter. Killing her would have angered the big bads, Groxx and Lady Luna specifically want all the heroines captured alive for breeding purposes. If Valkyrie hadn't fled, they would have made her pay 'homage' too, while holding her in place until some mankeys could come help secure her. Which is what the king should have done but he was too self-centered and lazy.
